Final Week - and One Last Image
Updated: May 7, 2020
Well, this is the last week of the semester with only a couple assignments left to take care of. I also completed a 6th blanket titled "Triggered" for the upcoming online virtual exhibit. This blanket is somewhat a narration of an absolute emotional breakdown brought on by a bad reaction to my medication at the time as well as the storm of shit I was going through.
Something triggered me that day and sent me falling back on the floor, crying and screaming my face off. I didn't know where I was, and I couldn't stop howling - not matter how much I tried. Everything that was bottled up inside came pouring out and there was nothing I could do. It was embarrassing for many obvious reasons, but it was just another day in the life of the hell I was in at the time.
So that's the basic backstory to this blanket: the inevitable flood of emotions that came crashing and holding me down, with me powerless to do anything about it.
Roughly 23x52", marker, ink, acrylic, pastel, and crayon on linen.
